Wall Street Journal: Underground hydrogen could supercharge green energy. First, scientists have to find it

Natural, or “geologic” hydrogen, present underground and created through natural processes can be extracted without large electricity requirements. Its potential to bring about the biggest disruption to the global energy system, as well as to finally make the hydrogen economy possible, is generating a great amount of excitement. At a moment where opportunities for clean hydrogen production seem to be growing continuously, it is only logical that multiple experts and companies are putting all their efforts into its exploration and production.
