At the dawn of the hydrogen era
Great paper by Clota Värde on how important hydrogen will be in the shift to a zero-carbon world. Clean hydrogen is expected to be especially useful in sectors that are difficult to decarbonize, such as heavy industry and transport. The paper covers the challenges but also highlights the good news: falling cost of hydrogen production; cheaper and greener production technologies are emerging, and our favorite the recognition of ‘white’ or ‘geological’ hydrogen for its potential, with an emphasis on the fact that it is currently believed to be the only truly clean hydrogen form that can compete with fossil fuels.
